The African Society for Laboratory Medicine, the first pan-African society for laboratory professionals, has put together a COVID-19 resource hub which offers interactive training and information sessions pertaining to the latest diagnostic tools, techniques, procedures, and advancements in testing.


KRISP is a coordinated genomics effort of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the Technology Innovation Agency and the South African Medical Research Council that uses NextGen sequencing and bioinformatics to answer scientific questions, with efforts currently focused on the COVID-19 pandemic.


Johns Hopkins University hosts a free, publicly available series of short modules to explore the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics include virology, diagnosis and treatment, and epidemiology.

The African Academy of Sciences has curated a Coronavirus Collection provides a platform for rapid dissemination of the latest research related to coronavirus, making the information publicly available so that others can respond effectively.


LitCovid is an open-resource literature hub offering a comprehensive & up-to-date library of publications specific to the COVID-19 pandemic. Publications are retrieved from PubMed, which is maintained by the U.S. National Institutes of Health and then sorted into 8 broad categories, such as mechanism or transmission, or by geographical location.


The American Society for Microbiology has developed a COVID-19 Research Registry that highlights COVID-19 research articles curated by experts and serves as a resource for scientists working together to accelerate research.
