The Science Granting Councils Initiative in Sub-Saharan Africa is comprised of 15 science granting councils and aims to strengthen their capacity to support research and evidence based policies. The SGCI currently supports a COVID-19 Africa Rapid Grant Fund to contribute to the African response to the pandemic.
The Coronavirus Innovation Map is a visualized global database that is mapping the innovations related to tackling coronavirus in various fields such as diagnostics, treatment, lifestyle changes, etc., on a geographical scale. It was created by the company StartupBlink in cooperation with Health Innovation Exchange (HIEx) by UNAIDS and Moscow Agency of Innovations.
The Innovation Bridge Portal is part of South Africa’s efforts to combat the COVID-19 Pandemic. This platform, created in partnership with South Africa’s Department of Science and the South African Medical Research Council, aims to identify all COVID-19-related research and innovation being conducted or planned in Africa.
